You Filthy Pigs

Well, I didn't know the first post here would come so soon after setting up the blog, but here we are.

I went to lunch today to the local shopping centre with some other people from work. After getting our food we did the usual wander to find a table. The place was packed, but I could have sworn not 5 minutes before there were a ton of empty tables. Now there wasn't any.

We finally came across one, but there was just one problem. The people who were there before us, hereby known as "the pigs", decided to get up and leave their rubbish, plates, napkins, a small bottle of open apple juice, tipped on it's side no less, at the table. The rubbish bin was no further then 1.5 metres away at the most, and the pigs have just got up and left the table in a mess. Whatever happened to cleaning up after oneself? Now, the centre does have cleaners, which do wander around the food court to clear the tables and clean them, and one could argue that, well, that is what they're paid to do, but no. The state the pigs left their table in was just out of pure laziness, particularly when you saw how far away the bin was from the table. It's a shocking state when you have some people are so lazy they simply can't put a couple of plastic plates in the rubbish.

It takes all of a handful of seconds to clean up after oneself, and it makes things just that much better for everyone involved. The people working at the centre can clean and wipe over the table quicker meaning that the next people can use the table after you have finished with it quicker. The turnaround time for everything is a little quicker meaning people can get back to what they were doing before stopping for lunch, whether it be work, shopping etc. It also makes the area a much more enjoyable place to eat. I know I would prefer to eat at a place that has clean tables rather then surrounded tables stacked high with rubbish.
